| | Generally you can manage your files via any FTP client software like Cute FTP or Dreamweaver FTP, alternatively you can manage your files via cPanel File manager.
To access file manager go to cPanel main page, click on File Manager icon, your website files will be in public_html directory. Click on the folder icon to access its content
To create a new folder (directory)
Click on Create new folder button, enter the name of the folder in the right hand area, click create. The new folder will be successfully created.
Clicking on the actual name of the folder will display properties or options for the specific directory or file.
In the right hand area you can see the options available for managing the current directory.
In order to upload file via cPanel file manager
Click on the folder icon to which you’d like to upload a new file
Click on Upload file(s) button
Browse your hard drive for the file you wish to upload
If the file already exist in the site and you wish to upload an updated version of the file, click to overwrite the existing file (check the box next to "existing files")
To edit the file or modify its properties go to the destination folder, click on the actual name of the file, the options will appear in the right hand area.
The file manager displays permissions for all files and directories. To modify permissions click on change permissions button that you can see in the right hand area.
Different files may require certain permissions. You can enter the numbers manually or can check the boxes that apply to the permissions you would like to grant, click on change button |
